In 2007 main promoter - The Council of Europe - spoke to The Association of Historical Settlements in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia (SHS ČMS) to organize this contest and to take over the auspices. The association was very happy to took charge of this challenge and the result is a successful first four years. The competition culminates with awarding of prizes and diplomas on the occasion of the International Day for Monuments and Sites in the Spanish Hall at Prague Castle.

The contest "International Heritage Photographic Experience" is now one of the greatest worldwide events for youngsters in an area of cultural heritage.
